The 3rd Annual Blue Mountain Marathon is coming back to our community this fall on Sunday October 16th, 2011. With the incredible success of last year’s event, we are looking forward to hosting a bigger, better and more enjoyable event this year; one that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle while illustrating the beauty of our community. In order to make this not-for-profit event the huge success we anticipate it to be, we are asking for your financial support; a chance to give something back to the community and get something back for your business.
How your support helps: Proceeds go to natural health research and back into the community to promote active healthy lifestyles for children. Last year we donated $3000 to support the development of “The Crew” – an after school pilot program aimed at helping at-risk male youth in 7th and 8th grade find a sense of belonging and connect with other youth once a week. The program also promotes healthy physical activity, providing opportunities for these youth to participate in extra-curricular activities they may not have been able to afford or have access to. Additionally, we donated the remaining $1000 to a research foundation for natural health care. We hope, with your support, that we can make significant contributions again this year.
